The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has placed actress Shirley Igwe on indefinite suspension for reportedly slapping a crew member during a film shoot issuing a directive barring participation in all AGN-affiliated productions.

The action was confirmed in a statement shared with AGN state chapters and national executives.
Reports indicate that Igwe allegedly slapped a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN) during filming prompting outrage among production crews.
In response, the AGN’s National Executive Council described her behaviour as violent, indisciplined, and capable of bringing the acting profession into disrepute.
The statement further instructed all guild members to avoid working with Shirley Igwe while the investigation is ongoing.
