The 7th edition of the Leadership Excellence Awards (LEEX) has unveiled its winners after weeks of public voting that engaged Nigerians at home and abroad. The prestigious awards, organized by Igbere TV and endorsed by the African Union and the African Film Institute, recognize individuals and organizations who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and impact across various sectors.
Since its inception, the LEEX Awards have stood out as one of Africa’s premier recognition platforms, honoring transformative leaders such as former President Olusegun Obasanjo, WTO DG Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and billionaire entrepreneur Obi Cubana in past editions.
This year’s awardees include:
- Man of the Year – Tony Elumelu
- Woman of the Year – Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan
- Philanthropist of the Year – Peter Obi
- Governors of the Year – Alex Otti (Infrastructure), Mohammed Bago (Agriculture), Uba Sani (Healthcare)
- Senator of the Year – Orji Uzor Kalu (Constituency Projects), Seriake Dickson (Advocacy), David Jimkuta (Empowerment)
- Iconic Artist of the Year (Afrobeats) – Made Kuti
- Social Crusader of the Year – VeryDarkMan (VDM)
- Minister of the Year – David Umahi
Other honorees include leaders in healthcare, finance, sports, aviation, innovation, and public service, reflecting the diversity of sectors contributing to Nigeria and Africa’s development.
The grand ceremony is scheduled for October 31, 2025, at the Nigeria Air Force Conference Hall in Abuja. Dignitaries, industry captains, cultural icons, and international guests are expected to attend, with the event also broadcast live across multiple platforms.
The LEEX Awards not only celebrate achievements but also inspire young leaders, create networking opportunities, and encourage transformative change across Africa.
