A lady has publicly shared her distressing experience with several alleged fraudulent Nigerian film directors, accusing them of exploiting aspiring actors both financially and sexually.
According to her post on social media :
she walked down memory lane to recount multiple instances where these directors promised major acting opportunities but required large sums of money and improper favor in exchange.
She said the directors presented themselves as gate-keepers to “big breaks” in Nollywood, rushing hopes and dreams of newcomers. After paying up and performing certain compromising acts, she and others were left stranded projects didn’t materialize, fees were lost, and reputations risked.
The post has sparked concern across social media about the vulnerability of aspiring actors in the film industry, the power imbalance between newcomers and gate-keepers, and the need for stronger protective mechanisms and accountability in casting processes.
