Terrorists have kidnapped several students and staff members from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
The attack took place early Friday morning when armed men invaded the school, sending students and teachers fleeing in panic. The exact number of abducted victims has not yet been confirmed, as school authorities are still compiling their records.
A source who spoke to Daily Trust verified the incident, adding that the Catholic Church is expected to release an official statement soon. Attempts to reach the Niger State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, did not respond to calls.
This kidnapping comes just days after a similar tragedy in Kebbi State, where terrorists abducted at least 25 students from a government school. The repeated incidents highlight the growing insecurity spreading across northern Nigeria.
