There are lawful transactions that keep people in bondage. There are things that give the enemy legal right to afflict, delay, and keep people in perpetual captivity.

Until those legal grounds are addressed through genuine service to God, freedom remains elusive.
Speaking at the Grace Nation Midweek Prophetic, Healing, Deliverance & Solutions Service PHDS, held at the international headquarters of Grace Nation Worldwide in Ojodu Berger, Lagos, the Generational Prophet of God and Senior Pastor, Dr. Chris Okafor, delivered a powerful teaching on the subject “Transactions Matter.”

The renowned Lagos prophet explained that a “legal implication” means a person has become a lawful captive.
According to him, lawful captives are those held legally by the devil because of transactions, covenants, and involvements that gave the enemy access. When such legal claims exist, the devil operates with authority, and prayers alone may not break the hold until the transaction is reversed.

Dr. Okafor stressed that every transaction has principles and legality. Just as earthly courts require legal grounds before judgment, the spirit realm also operates by laws. The enemy studies a person’s history, family background, past actions, and secret dealings to establish legal claims. Once those claims are valid, bondage becomes lawful, and the captive remains trapped until the legal matter is settled.
He charged believers to understand these spiritual principles to break out of captivity. The man of God said freedom begins when a person recognizes the transaction that opened the door, repents genuinely, and engages in sacrificial service to God. Service, he noted, is a transaction with heaven that cancels every evil legal transaction with darkness.
“Until you work it out by your service to God, that legal hold will remain,” he declared. He urged members to examine their lives, renounce every evil covenant, and align with God through obedience, giving, and kingdom service.
Dr. Okafor concluded that God is a God of justice. When the legal grounds the enemy is standing on are destroyed through redemption, repentance, and service, the lawful captive becomes free indeed. He prayed for everyone under any form of legal bondage to receive total deliverance and fresh liberty in Jesus’ name Amen
