In a strategic move to revitalize governance and improve service delivery, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has relieved two commissioners of their duties and named their successors
According to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, the affected officers are:
- Engr. Emat Kois, Commissioner for Environment
- Hon. Tukur Ibrahim, Commissioner for Intergovernmental & Special Duties
Governor Zulum expressed gratitude for their service and wished them success in future endeavors
Governor Zulum immediately appointed replacements to fill the vacant roles:
- Engr. Mohammed Habib → Commissioner, Environment
- Ibrahim Hala Hassan → Commissioner, Intergovernmental & Special Duties
Additionally, Professor Yusuf Gana Balami has been named Executive Chairman of the Borno State Secondary Education Board
A respected Professor of Educational Psychology from Hawul, Prof. Balami previously worked with the Borno State Ministry of Education (1984–1988) and the University of Maiduguri, achieving full professorship in 2014. He is widely published and involved in multiple academic associations.
All new appointments have been forwarded to the Borno State House of Assembly for legislative confirmation, marking the next step in the formal reshuffle process.
