Cubana Chief Priest has issued a bold and direct warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the life imprisonment sentence handed to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. In a fiery social media post, he declared that Tinubu should not expect political support from the South-East in the 2027 elections if Kanu remains behind bars.
According to him, “As long as MNK remains in jail, you cannot and will never get up to 10,000 votes in SouthEast come 2027. I will not lie to you Papa… MNK is the supreme leader of SouthEast. His detention has caused us so much setback.”
Chief Priest criticized South-East ministers serving in Tinubu’s cabinet, calling them “cowards” who are disconnected from the realities at home. He argued that none of them has the influence or capacity to help the president gain support in the region. “They can’t even go to their hometowns because of MNK’s detention, so how can they help you?” he wrote.
He also accused certain political associates who recently met with the president at Delborough Hotel of being self-serving, claiming they are only interested in land deals and personal gains, not in helping Tinubu win the trust of the region.
Clarifying his motives, he stated that he has nothing personally to gain but is speaking because he does not want the president to fail. “Villa na hotel… na few more days your check-out time go reach,” he warned, insisting that only Nnamdi Kanu’s release can repair Tinubu’s image in the South-East.
Chief Priest also called out Governor Hope Uzodimma, saying his achievements will be forgotten if he does not push for Kanu’s freedom. He similarly faulted Tinubu for skipping Governor Alex Otti’s project commissioning in Abia, saying the president missed a crucial chance to reconnect with the region.
He concluded emphatically: “Appeal this judgement & get it right or get ready to check out of the Villa come 2027. Southeast belongs to MNK. This is the words.
