The Chairman of Swiss Metro Group, Dr. Ezekiel Ifeyi Ibeh, has donated ₦100 million to support the construction of a community hospital and nursing school in Ihiala, Anambra State.
Dr. Ibeh, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Metrotiles Roofing System, announced the donation during a high-profile fundraising dinner organized by the Ihiala Unity Forum on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Oriental Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event was aimed at raising ₦1.5 billion for the development of the healthcare and training facilities.
In addition to his monetary contribution, Dr. Ibeh pledged that one of his subsidiaries, a leading construction and roofing company, would handle the complete roofing of the hospital and nursing school once the structural phase is completed.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ibeh said the gesture was part of his lifelong commitment to community development and human capital growth, stressing that true wealth lies in its power to uplift others.
“Giving back to society, especially in health and education, is one of the noblest ways to impact lives and build sustainable development,” he said. “This project will not only bring affordable healthcare to our people but also create a platform for training young healthcare professionals who will serve across Nigeria and beyond.”
Organizers of the event commended Dr. Ibeh and other donors for their generosity, noting that the project aims to fill the long-standing gap in accessible medical care and professional health training within the Ihiala region. They added that the community, having overcome years of insecurity, is now refocusing its energy on rebuilding its economy and social infrastructure.
The fundraising event drew a distinguished audience of business leaders, philanthropists, community heads, and professionals, who pledged both financial and moral support to the initiative.
Notable attendees included High Chief Darlington Nwabunike, President of De Imperial Philanthropic Family; Barr. Donald Amamgbo, ADC senatorial candidate for Anambra South; and Chief Dr. Stanley Obodoagwu, alongside many illustrious sons and daughters of Ihiala both at home and in the diaspora.
Highlights of the event featured the unveiling of the hospital and nursing school prototype, goodwill messages, and generous pledges from well-meaning individuals and organizations.
The initiative was widely praised as a symbol of unity and renewal, reaffirming Ihiala’s commitment to rebuilding through collaborative development and shared vision.
