Former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello quietly weds his fourth wife, Hiqma, in a private ceremony in Abuja, as family confirms new union.
Yahaya Bello has quietly taken a fourth wife, Hiqma Yahaya-Bello, in a discreet wedding ceremony held in the Kubwa area of Abuja last Saturday. The event was intimate, attended only by close family members and trusted associates, with no public fanfare.
The addition was confirmed by Bello’s third wife, Hafiza Yahaya-Bello, via a heartfelt Instagram post:
“Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin.”
Hiqma joins Bello’s existing family alongside his first wife, Amina Oyiza, second wife Rasheedat, and third wife Hafiza, who was notably active in public life during Bello’s tenure from 2016 to 2024.
Yahaya Bello, now 50, served as governor of Kogi State from 2016 until 2024. During his tenure, he was known for his youthful leadership style and controversial financial dealings. His EFCC prosecution centers on allegations of misappropriating over ₦80 billion, an ongoing legal matter.
