Ikhuenbor Felix Igbinevbo, popularly known as Mr. Figo and former Edo State National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement during the 2023 presidential election, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Figo made the switch on Tuesday during a visit to the APC leadership in Ohuan Ward, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area. The activist, social commentator, and long-time critic of the APC said this was the first time in over five decades he had registered as a card-carrying member of any political party.
Explaining his decision, he credited Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo for inspiring his move.
“My engagement with the governor in the past week, and particularly during visits to several local government areas in Edo North and Edo Central, shifted my perspective,” he said. “I saw firsthand the zeal and sincerity in his developmental drive for Edo State.”
Figo said he now believes it is no longer enough to support the governor from the outside and that he wants to strengthen his advocacy “from within the APC family” as a stakeholder. While affirming the supremacy of the party, he stressed that such supremacy must rest on justice, equity, and the people’s interest.
He also extended warm greetings to APC leaders at the state, senatorial, and local government levels.
