Former presidential spokesman Femi Adesina reveals Aisha Buhari was with her husband as recently as March 2025, dismissing claims they were divorced before his death.

In a recent public statement, Femi Adesina, former Media Adviser to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, has categorically dismissed circulating rumours that the former First Lady Aisha Buhari had divorced the ex-president before his death.

Addressing speculation suggesting Aisha had reverted to her maiden name and abandoned Buhari in the hospital, Adesina shared a personal anecdote:

“It was Ramadan…and the former First Lady, Aisha, was around and offered me some roasted meat (suya). Less than two weeks later, he travelled to London… and he never returned alive.”

His remarks vividly place Aisha with her husband’s side in March 2025, at their home in Kaduna two weeks before Buhari departed for London on what would be one final medical trip. These stand in stark contrast to claims made by Professor Farooq Kperogi, who alleged that the couple had separated before Buhari’s passing.

This adds emotional weight to the public’s understanding of the family’s final days and Aisha Buhari’s loyalty during her husband’s last moments.
