Leaders of Fulani armed groups have pledged to embrace lasting peace and peaceful coexistence following a dialogue with community representatives from Charanci and Batagarawa local government areas of Katsina State.
The peace meeting, held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Wurma town, Kurfi Local Government Area, brought together local authorities, traditional leaders, and representatives of the Fulani groups living within the forest regions.
According to reports by Zagazola via Militainment News, the session was attended by the Chairman of Batagarawa Local Government, Hon. Yahaya Lawal Kawo, as well as delegates from Charanci and Kurfi councils.
The discussions reportedly ended on a hopeful note as the Fulani leaders expressed readiness to abandon violence and cooperate with neighboring communities to restore lasting peace in the region.
Local sources described the development as a positive step toward reducing insecurity in Katsina, one of the states most affected by banditry in northwestern Nigeria.
Residents, however, remain cautiously optimistic, urging the government to follow up the dialogue with practical steps to ensure accountability and prevent future attacks.
