The Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, Professor Sunday Olowo Samuel, has announced that the institution will soon enjoy uninterrupted power supply, following Governor Monday Okpebholo’s approval of 1.5 megawatts of alternative energy for the university.
He further disclosed that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has also approved the construction of solar plants on campus to complement the state government’s efforts.
Security Update
Prof. Samuel clarified that the man recently found dead inside a bush within the university premises was not a student of AAU. According to him, investigations revealed that the victim was brought into the campus from Ubiaja, while suspects connected to the killing have been arrested and transferred to the State CID.
In response, the university has stepped up security measures and restricted students from driving cars into the campus.
