Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has once again made global headlines after receiving her second Guinness World Record (GWR) plaque this time for cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

According to Guinness World Records, Baci achieved the feat in Lagos last September, preparing an astonishing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice, officially setting a new world record.
This milestone follows her previous achievement in May 2023, when she cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes, earning her first Guinness title and global recognition as one of Nigeria’s finest culinary talents.
Taking to Instagram, Baci expressed her excitement and gratitude, describing the moment as a story of “faith, fire, and history.”
“Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria,” she wrote.
The event attracted over 20,000 guests, including top celebrities, food enthusiasts, and media personalities. Every serving of the record-breaking meal was shared with attendees and donated to charity in line with GWR standards.
Quoting Isaiah 61:7, Hilda said her journey represents the promise of “a double portion instead of shame and everlasting joy instead of disgrace.”
With this new recognition, Hilda Baci cements her legacy as Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records, reinforcing her role as a culinary trailblazer.
