Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci is set to make history once again as she attempts to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice on September 12, 2025, at Muri Okunola Park, Lagos.
The event will feature a six-meter-wide and six-meter-high pot, specially designed over the past two years. More than just a record-breaking attempt, it will double as a cultural festival, bringing together food lovers, music enthusiasts, and the Nigerian community at large.
Speaking on the upcoming feat, Hilda Baci reflected on her Guinness World Record cookathon in 2023, which gained international recognition:
“In 2023, the Hilda Baci cookathon took the world by storm. This year, it is Jollof, the heartbeat of West Africa — a taste that tells our story. It is more than cooking, it is a celebration of our food, our culture, our music, and us. We are making history again, and I want you to be there when it happens.”
The chef revealed that the project is being powered in partnership with Gino, a household name in Nigerian kitchens:
“Two years ago, I imagined the largest pot of Nigerian Jollof rice the world had ever seen. Today, with Gino, a brand we all grew up with, my dream is becoming a reality.”
Hilda encouraged Nigerians and fans worldwide to show up for the event, which promises not only food but also music performances, cultural showcases, and a community experience.
