The Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, Oba AbdulKabir Adewale Shotobi (Adeborunsen V), has officially announced the upcoming Eluku Festival, scheduled to hold from Saturday, August 16, to Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
According to the palace statement, the Eluku Deity Chiefs will be performing sacred traditional rites known as Etutu, aimed at ushering blessings and prayers to the Ikorodu community.
The festival activities will take place between 10:30 PM and 5:30 AM on the said dates, during which all residents are strictly advised to remain indoors. The announcement stressed that anyone not participating in the rites should stay at home to avoid “the annoyance of the ancestors.”
The rites will cover Ikorodu Main Town and surrounding areas, with a call to all indigenes and residents to respect the customs and maintain peace during the period.
The notice was made public by High Chief Murisiku Olabanji Oreagba, the Olumale Eluku of Ikorodu Kingdom.
