Afrobeats star Yemi Alade has opened up about why a collaboration between her and fellow music powerhouse Tiwa Savage is yet to happen despite fans constantly calling for it.
Speaking on the Jude Chinwo Podcast, Yemi Alade highlighted her history of working with other talented female artists such as Omawumi, Waje, and Seyi Shay, but admitted that a joint project with Tiwa Savage requires careful consideration.
“The fan favorite is definitely Tiwa,” Yemi said. “But honestly, I’d rather just stay clear. I don’t want any unnecessary problems in my life.”
She clarified that there’s no personal issue between them, but explained that fans and the media often create tension where none exists.
“There’s no bad blood at all,” she added. “It’s just that sometimes, fans and blogs stir waters that should remain calm. I’m not trying to make something out of nothing because there really isn’t any problem.”
Yemi Alade reaffirmed her support for women in music and emphasized that while she values collaboration, she prefers to avoid situations that could be misinterpreted by the public.
