Veteran Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has blasted VeryDarkMan (VDM) during a fiery TikTok live session, calling him “deceitful and manipulative” over claims she reneged on an agreement to apologize to Naira Marley and Sam Larry regarding the death of singer Mohbad.
Earlier, VDM alleged that during a meeting at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre, Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh agreed to issue a public apology for publicly linking Naira Marley and Sam Larry to Mohbad’s death. He claimed Iyabo backed out of the agreement, calling her inconsistent.
Iyabo’s Response: “I’m Not Like You”
In a sharp response during her live broadcast, Iyabo dismissed the claims as “corny tactics”, accusing VDM of using deceit to stir controversy:
“You’ve tried in all your might to bring me down, but you cannot. I’m not like you that’s very deceitful and corny,” she said.
She reiterated that her reaction in 2023 was driven by videos that surfaced online after Mohbad’s tragic death, including clips that appeared to show Naira Marley dancing and Sam Larry mocking the late singer.
“I Acted as a Concerned Mother”
“I used to promote Naira Marley’s songs until Mohbad died. I saw disturbing videos and I reacted as a mother and concerned citizen,” she explained.
Iyabo stood firm on her past actions, maintaining that her intentions were pure and that she only responded based on publicly available evidence at the time.
This new clash between Iyabo and VDM has reignited debates online, with fans split between those supporting her for standing up against bullying and others questioning whether the issue should be laid to rest.
