Popular Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has been named Muslim Celebrity of the Year at the Muslim News Nigeria Awards 2025 (MNAwards2025), earning recognition for his outstanding professionalism and his steadfast commitment to Islamic values in the entertainment industry.
The announcement was made on Friday, November 14, by the Publisher of Muslim News Nigeria, Alhaji Rasheed Abubakar, who praised Adedimeji for standing out among numerous nominees. According to him, the award celebrates Muslims who excel in their chosen fields while upholding the principles of their faith.
“Congratulations to our brother, Lateef Adedimeji, for this well-deserved award,” Abubakar said. “It reminds us that Allah sees us even when we do not see Him, and people observe our actions whether we realize it or not.”
He emphasized that the honour is both recognition and responsibility, urging Adedimeji to continue being a role model rooted in Islamic values. Abubakar added that the award aims to inspire other Muslim entertainers to proudly express their faith.
He concluded by referencing the Qur’an’s reminder that Muslims are the best community raised for mankind, those who enjoin good and forbid wrongdoing, expressing hope that more entertainers will embody these values
