Rising Nigerian visual artist, Holiveah, has completed a jaw-dropping 168-hour painting marathon, positioning herself for a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest painting session by an individual.
The remrkable feat, which began on July 21, 2025, concluded at exactly 1:50 a.m. on Monday, July 28, drawing attention from art lovers, creatives, and fans across Nigeria and beyond.
From Bonny Island in Rivers State, Holiveah exceeded her initial 150-hour goal, pushing through seven consecutive days of creativity and endurance. She celebrated the moment with supporters cheering her on as she made her final stroke.
“This wasn’t just about breaking a record. It was about proving that consistency, creativity, and courage can open doors globally especially for African women,” she said after the session.

Throughout the marathon, Holiveah produced artwork centered on:
- Hope
- African identity
- Resilience
- Youth empowerment
Each piece paid homage to Nigeria’s rich culture and spirit.
The event also spotlighted Bonny Island as a growing creative and tourism destination. It sparked community pride and conversations around arts investment and youth development in Nigeria.
Awaiting Official GWR Certification
The attempt has been submitted for review by Guinness World Records, and an official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
If certified, Holiveah will join the ranks of other Nigerians who have broken unconventional records in music, performance, and arts.
