General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has once again shared the serene vision he believes will mark the end of his earthly journey passing away on a Sunday, shortly after church service, and a plate of his favourite pounded yam.
Speaking during the fourth day of RCCG’s International Convention themed “The Overcomers”, Adeboye explained that death does not always come through prolonged illness, recalling that he first revealed this personal prophecy two years ago.
“I will die on a Sunday after attending service, eat my beloved pounded yam, and then pass on without sickness,” he said, stressing that it would be sudden yet peaceful.
In his sermon titled “Possess Your Possessions”, the revered cleric urged Christians to actively claim what God has promised them, referencing the biblical account of the Israelites who had to fight to enter the Promised Land.
He outlined four areas where believers must refuse spiritual defeat: healing, prosperity, fruitfulness, and long life.
- On healing, he reminded the congregation that Jesus had already paid for their health, but the enemy still seeks to steal it.
- On prosperity, he declared that God’s children are not destined for poverty, saying, “If you choose to remain poor, you will remain poor.”
- Addressing criticism of wealthy Christians, Adeboye noted the double standards of people who question both riches and poverty among believers.
- On long life, he stressed the need to fight for survival against every demonic plan for premature death.
Using examples like Rachel and Hannah, who overcame barrenness through prayer, Adeboye urged worshippers to reject all forms of spiritual oppression.
“It’s what you tolerate that will disturb you,” he said. “Stop tolerating sickness, poverty, barrenness, or premature death. Fight to possess your possessions Christ already paid the price.”
The message left thousands in attendance inspired to stand firm in faith and lay claim to the blessings they believe are rightfully theirs.
