The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of a nightclub owned by popular socialite and entertainer, Mike Nwalie, better known as Pretty Mike, over alleged involvement in drug-related activities.
Justice Musa Kakaki issued the ruling on Tuesday following an ex parte motion brought before the court by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), represented by counsel Buhari Abdulahi.
The property, located at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, and operating under the name Proxy Lagos Night Club, was said to have been used for the storage and distribution of 169 cylinders (384.662 kilograms) of nitrous oxide (popularly called laughing gas) and 200 grams of cann@bis sativa.
According to the NDLEA, Pretty Mike and his business partner, Joachim Hillary, allegedly used the venue to plan a “large-scale drug-themed party.”
In a sworn affidavit, NDLEA’s Deputy Commander of Narcotics, Nasiru Garba Bungudu, stated that the agency received credible intelligence in October 2025 about an upcoming event involving controlled substances. Acting swiftly, operatives raided the club on October 26, recovering the illegal substances and arresting over 200 individuals, including the two owners.
Subsequent tests confirmed the substances were prohibited drugs. The NDLEA further alleged that the club had a history of similar activities carried out with the consent of its owners.
After reviewing the evidence, Justice Kakaki ordered the interim forfeiture of the nightclub to the Federal Government, with all business operations at the premises suspended pending further investigation.
The case was adjourned to January 28, 2026, for further hearing.
