Lere Olayinka, media aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, cautions Atiku Abubakar against returning to the PDP after resigning, calling his departure “good riddance to bad rubbish.”
Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication & Social Media to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has issued a sharp warning to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, advising him not to return to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) following his resignation.
Olayinka described Atiku’s departure from the party as “good riddance to bad rubbish”, underscoring the sentiment that the PDP might now have the opportunity to rebuild.
“Atiku Abubakar leaving the PDP, to me, is good riddance to bad rubbish… The party can now begin to look at itself and bring itself together again,” Olayinka stated
He also took aim at Atiku’s history of party switching, saying:
“He’s been leaving since 2007… one thing I would have loved to see in the reportage yesterday was that the headline should have been ‘Atiku Abubakar leaves PDP again.'”
Olayinka warned that if Atiku fails in his new political alignment expected under the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC), he should not expect a warm return to the PDP.
He claimed Atiku has been a “weapon fashioned against the PDP,” suggesting his influence has weakened the party over the years
