Samuel Chinecherem Ezeh has made history by creating the world’s longest sleeves, earning himself a place in the Guinness World Records.
Samuel’s jaw-dropping robe features sleeves measuring 51.20 metres (167.97 feet) in length, surpassing both the height of the Statue of Liberty (46.5 metres) and the length of an Olympic-size swimming pool (50 metres).

The 27-year-old record breaker, who is also a student at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, said the achievement was the result of determination, creativity and perseverance.
Samuel revealed that the garment was designed and sewn in under four hours, but the process was far from smooth.
On the day of his official attempt in February 2024, both his primary and backup sewing machines broke down after their needles snapped.

“At this point I felt like crying,” Samuel admitted. “I called my supervisor who sent someone to get a new pack of needles. After fixing the machine with his help, I continued sewing.”
Funding also proved challenging. Without corporate sponsorship, Samuel personally financed 70% of the project.
Samuel began his fashion journey during secondary school as an apprentice tailor. In 2020, he launched his clothing brand Eco Collection World of Beauty, aiming to make a global mark in the fashion industry.
“I have always wanted the world to know me for my fashion skills. I want to have a big clothing brand and be a rich, famous fashionista,” he said.
To craft the record-breaking robe, Samuel used 62 yards of jampard material – two yards for the body and 60 yards for the sleeves.
A Moment of Triumph
Samuel described the moment he received confirmation from Guinness World Records as unforgettable.
“I opened the mail and read it. I was smiling on the road and felt like dancing. I screamed at the top of my voice, ‘I made it!’”
Now, Samuel hopes to take the robe on a world tour to showcase his work and inspire aspiring creatives. His message is simple: believe in yourself, even when the odds are against you.
