Sowore Released from Kuje Prison, Vows to Continue Fight for Justice

by Editor

Human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has been released from the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja after fulfilling the bail conditions imposed by the Federal High Court.

Sowore regained his freedom hours after the court granted him bail in the sum of ₦200 million in the cybercrime case instituted against him.

Speaking to supporters shortly after his release, the activist said his detention had not weakened his resolve but had instead strengthened his determination to continue advocating for justice.

“Leaving Kuje Prison after being unjustly incarcerated by the failed traitor to the Nigerian people, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his regime.

Prison has never broken the resolve of those who fight for justice. If anything, it only strengthens our determination.

The struggle continues. We will never surrender. #RevolutionNow #Sowore2027,” he said.

Sowore had earlier been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre following a Federal High Court order pending the hearing of his bail application.

The court later granted him bail on the condition that he provide two sureties, surrender his international passport, and comply with other conditions while the trial continues.

The activist is facing charges bordering on cybercrime and alleged defamation over comments he made about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Sowore has denied the allegations, insisting the case is politically motivated and maintaining his innocence.
