Social media activist and content creator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has disclosed that his non-profit organisation has received almost ₦700 million in donations since its launch.

Sharing a screenshot of the Martins Vincent Otse Initiative (MVOI) account on social media, VDM revealed that the NGO has recorded a lifetime donation total of ₦691.6 million as of June 22, 2026.
According to the figures he shared, about ₦671.8 million has already been spent on various projects, leaving a balance of approximately ₦19.8 million.
Reacting to the development, VDM hinted that the organisation may soon begin another fundraising drive.
“Like play like play na almost ₦1 billion Ratels don put for NGO, current balance is ₦19 million… Money don go down, we go need to raise more funds soon,” he wrote.
VDM launched the NGO in October 2024, with a focus on education, community development, clean water projects and other social intervention programmes.
The initiative attracted widespread support shortly after its unveiling, receiving major donations from notable personalities, including music executive Don Jazzy, who donated ₦100 million, and Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy, who reportedly contributed ₦150 million.
While some supporters praised the transparency shown by the activist and pledged to continue supporting the initiative, others questioned the visibility of projects executed with the funds.
Several social media users called for more updates and evidence of completed projects, while others defended the organisation, arguing that the NGO maintains a public financial tracker and has consistently promised accountability.
The latest disclosure has reignited debate online about transparency, public trust and how charitable organisations should communicate their impact to donors and supporters.
