Princess Ekeinde, daughter of Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, has shared her views on marriage, revealing that she cannot marry below the standard established by her family.
Speaking candidly about relationships, Princess explained that her upbringing and family background have influenced the qualities she seeks in a life partner.
“I can’t marry down because of the kind of family I come from. If you know, you know. Obviously, there is a standard that my family has already set, and I have to follow that precedence. Anything lower than that is a no-no.”
She added that beyond status and background, love remains an important factor in her choice of a husband.
“Outside of that, I also want to marry up for someone that I love. I think, when you are in a certain standard, you can only go up from that standard.”
According to Princess, she believes people who attain a particular level in life often seek partners who match or exceed their achievements and social standing.
Her comments have sparked discussions online, with some agreeing that compatibility includes shared values and lifestyle expectations, while others argued that marriage should be based primarily on character and mutual understanding rather than family status.
Princess Ekeinde is one of the children of veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and her husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde. The actress and her family have often been admired for their close bond and longstanding marriage.
