Eyiyemi Afolayan has sparked conversations online after sharing her candid views on marriage, financial stability, and the kind of partner she hopes to marry.
Speaking about relationships, Eyiyemi stated that she cannot see herself becoming a second or third wife and also ruled out the idea of building a relationship with a financially struggling man.
According to her, personal experiences and observations have shaped her outlook on love and commitment, particularly when it comes to money and fidelity.
“I can’t be a second or third wife to any man. I also can’t build with a man because some men are ingrates,” she said.
Eyiyemi argued that some men remain loyal during difficult financial periods not necessarily because of love, but because they lack the resources to pursue other relationships.
“If I should marry a struggling man, he will stay with me and be dedicated to me, not because he loves me but because he has no money at that time to be flirting around.
“Once he has money, he becomes promiscuous,” she added.
The daughter of acclaimed filmmaker Kunle Afolayan further explained that her upbringing has influenced her expectations in a life partner.
“I’m from a well-to-do home, so I will have to marry a man who has something going on in his life, not a poor man starting from zero,” she said.
