Veteran controversial entertainer Charly Boy has sparked fresh conversation about marriage after describing his nearly five-decade-long union as “boring,” while reflecting on the realities of long-term relationships.

Speaking during an interview on Yanga FM, the outspoken media figure said that staying with one partner for 48 years comes with routine and challenges, stressing that marriage requires continuous effort from both sides to survive.

Using humor to make his point, Charly Boy compared long-term marriage to eating the same meal repeatedly, suggesting that familiarity can sometimes lead to monotony.

“I’ve been married to one woman for 48 years. It is very boring. Imagine eating the same egusi for years, it’s boring now,” he said.

Despite the joke, he clarified that disagreements are a normal part of marriage, adding that even long-standing unions are not free from conflict.

He explained that he and his wife still experience frequent misunderstandings but always find ways to resolve their differences and move forward together.

“All marriages are management, including my own. Me and my wife be like Tom and Jerry. We dey quarrel every day and we will continue to dey quarrel and settle am,” he added.
