Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has praised the people and traditional leaders of Ewu Kingdom in Esan Central Local Government Area for maintaining peace despite the ongoing kingship dispute involving His Royal Highness Barrister Razak Ojeifo and Prince Jafaru Israel Ojeifo.
The governor’s commendation was delivered by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Musa Yakubu, when a delegation from Ewu Kingdom paid a courtesy visit to the Government House in Benin City.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Okpebholo, Yakubu applauded the maturity, patience and peaceful approach demonstrated by members of the community throughout the royal succession disagreement.
According to him, the calm disposition of the people has prevented a breakdown of law and order while creating an enabling environment for dialogue and a peaceful resolution of the dispute.
He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring justice, fairness and lasting peace in every community across Edo State, assuring the delegation that the governor would carefully consider the issues presented during the meeting.
“I want to assure you that your concerns have been noted and will be conveyed to the governor. You will receive responses as soon as possible. Governor Okpebholo is committed to peace, development and the well-being of every community in Edo State,” Yakubu said.
Ewu Leaders Seek Governor’s Intervention

He commended the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
Professor Akagbosu, however, appealed to the governor to intervene in the lingering kingship dispute, expressing confidence that his involvement would help bring a peaceful and lasting solution to the succession crisis.
According to him, resolving the dispute would strengthen unity, promote stability and encourage continued development within the kingdom.
